Framrúðu Vernd supplements the vehicle insurance you hold with your insurer; it does not replace it.
Up to ISK 72,500
Framrúðu Vernd reimburses some or all of your excess following a covered windscreen claim, up to ISK 72,500 for a single claim.
12 months of cover
The policy runs for one year and renews automatically each year. Only one claim can be made per insurance period.
How does it work?
Applying for cover is simple, and claiming is even simpler. When your insurer covers the windscreen damage, your excess is reimbursed under the terms of Framrúðu Vernd.

Claim through your insurer
Following covered windscreen damage, claim through your existing insurer, who will charge the applicable excess.
- 2.
Send the claim settlement to TMÍ
Once your insurer has completed your claim, report it to TMÍ and send a copy of the claim settlement.

Receive reimbursement
Framrúðu Vernd reimburses your excess, up to ISK 72,500, under the policy terms.

More about the insurance
The insurance reduces or fully reimburses the excess the vehicle owner must pay on a claim under liability insurance for windscreen damage, up to the insured amount.
What is covered?
- Partial or full reimbursement of the excess on a covered windscreen claim under vehicle liability insurance, up to ISK 72,500.
Key limitations
The insurance does not apply in every situation, including damage caused by gross negligence, intoxication or unlawful conduct.
Only one claim can be made per insurance period.
